Last week I found out a friend has H1N1 / Swine Flu. When I talked to her she told me some of the things she had and it didn’t sound like what I’d read about H1N1, it sounded like she just had a seriously bad flu/cold. You don’t get congested and phlemy (new word, check, check, check it out)… as where with the flu or a bad cold, you do. Who knows?
So then two days ago my Mom calls me, very, very upset. She’s got H1N1. WTF? My MOM!!??? I was pretty crushed and then I thought… wait a second… H1N1 doesn’t mean you’re going to die, it means you’re sick. Take care of yourself and you’re better. Simple. Thing is, she’s a smoker and we all know smokers don’t exactly have the best health system.
I got off the phone with her, got all dark in my head… what if? What if my Mom dies? Jesus man, ponder that for a second about your own Mama Bird. That shit is scary. I lost my Dad to lung cancer about 10 years back, that sucked but he was an asshole and did nothing but hurt people so perhaps karma was on it’s game that day… who knows.
In any case, I saw these and they made me smile so I figured since H1N1 seems to be affecting us all, I’d share.
for those out of the loop… H1N1 is the name given to the Swine flu… the Pork industry was getting pissy re: Swine so it was renamed H1N1. This… the piglet jokes are in reference to swine.

I know my Mom will get better, H1N1 is just a bad ass flu, the media makes it look like something that is killing people all over but that shit only happens in 3rd world countries for the most part or extreme cases. Thankfully.

hey dude, i hope your mom feels better soon! my little niece just had a couple weeks back, shes ok now to, but its definitely a scary thing when it hits so close t home eh? hang in there man.

Thanks bro, I am sure she’ll be fine. Just freaks ya out when your Mom calls ya all scared and worried, ya know? My Mom is the strongest person I know so when she gets all stressed and is upset, it’s a wee bit freaky.
