One thing I have always had a good laugh over, is when I see a girl that has been photoshopped all over the place. It’s like… wait… someone thinks THIS is hot? What’s worse if she is a web model. WTF? IS she ever going to be on webcam? I mean, if her skin is smooth and pore less… won’t someone kind of notice when she gets on webcam and looks human?
Maybe I don’t understand it, maybe that’s what it is. Maybe someone out there reading can help me understand this? Is it sexy to see a girl that looks porcelain? Is it attractive when the girl looks like she has zero tone/curve, instead she’s sort of blurred to the point she almost has no face or body?
I understand from photographing women for the last 12 years that yes, some days are better than others. Every female, regardless of age is just like every guy out there… we have days where our complexion works for us, we have days it works against us. Difference I think… is that when you have someone blur your ass to death… well, you look pretty fake. No?
Example of some of what I mean…
hmmmmm yeah, I see a difference. I completely understand photoshopping images. I am not against it, I am confused why some would *OVER* Photoshop images to the point where the girl looks more like Barbie, and less like girl.
example..
Before…
after.
no clue what the words on this means… I found this in the the googles
Madonna is ummm…
Yeah… photoshop is awesome.
I wonder what this woman looks like? She looks like someone took an edge sander to her, followed by a buffer.
So again… not trying to hate and be some huge asshole, just saying WTF is it with the over photoshopping?
I know of a few web models that do this excessively… and well, good for them if it makes them happy. I have no issues with people that photoshop, I have done it over the years just as much as the next webbie, but seriously, when every image needs the girl to look like this girl above, where there is no definition, no pores, no real anything other than blur blur blur…. wtf is the point?
Again, not trying to hate. I fully understand use of photoshop. We all use it, we all shop our photos. I get that. It’s when we need to look reeeeeally plastic that I get confused. Magazines make people pretty, we all then want to look like the people in magazines and go out of our minds because we don’t.
Maybe some of you can shed light on this. =)
in the mean time… this is cool

You are so right. Now, here is your next blog topic, How do you convince your prospective models that as a “PHOTOGRAPHER” you will not be able to get them to look like to washed out models that you see online.
I thought that I would do a lot more shopping of images but have decided to go the other direction. I am happier for it. Keep blogging, This is one of the places I hit regularly. (I hope to be in your shoes in 10 years)
