So here’s the thing. When I was growing up, I’d watch my parents and I always pondered why they were so hell bent on some topics. they were so stuck in their ways, unable to accept that maybe, just maybe their ways were out-dated and well, wrong. Where do we learn things from? Usually, our parents, those around us, perhaps the net but most often, we learn by our parents, friends, people we encounter daily.
So here’s my question… if you know you’re being a pig headed, stubborn fuck, why not change?
I’m older than I used to be, but not as old as I will be some day, just like you. When I was 20, I thought 30 was old. Now I’m well past 30 and well, I am looking at 40-50 at being young still and perhaps my definition of ‘old’ has changed dramatically. I’d say old isn’t an age, it’s a frame of mind. I think you can be in your 60’s and still be young as the 25 year old beside ya. After all, age only counts in wine, and cheese, right?
BUT…..
With age, comes that whole getting stuck in your ways thing. So don’t. Seriously. Stop being an asshole. Start being more open minded and understand that just as the world has evolved, so too must you. Evolve or become extinct is what I say.
My Dad, who now is gone, was stuck in his ways. He was so SURE about everything. HE was never wrong, well, if you ask him he was never wrong. He never could admit he was wrong, and the son of a bitch could never say sorry. As a Man, there is no better way to look like a spineless pinhead than to not be able to admit if you are incorrect. You’re human, you douche. If you’re wrong, ADMIT IT. We all make errors and admitting those errors is the only way you move forward or, EVOLVE.
So, what have we learned today? James has Daddy issues. lololololo. I totally do though, he was a dick head and I never got a chance to tell him he was a dick head. Some closure on the topic would have been great. Ah well. At least I can learn from his shitty example.
As I get older, I refuse to get older. See how easy that way? How old are you? 30. Well, some anniversary of 30. Fuck it. I’m 30 and will always be 30. I refuse to get stuck in my ways. If you’re doing something better than me, fuck yeah! Mind if I watch and learn? If I am able to teach you something, kick ass, glad I could help.
I hate narrow minded pricks that think they’re superiors to others. We’re all on the same rock, might as well learn from one another.
Be the change you want to see in others.
