The Calgary Flames finally came to their senses and traded away one of the most selfish, egoistical, flat out bad seeds in their organization today.
Dion Phaneuf was touted as the next Scott Stevens. He was going to be one of the greatest D men in the game. Only one problem in that equation… Dion’s ego. He is a cancer in the dressing room, fighting with everyone. Is it any surprise Team Canada didn’t want him on their Olympic squad? Hell no. The guy is a tremendous douche. The only +1 I can think about the guy is that he was at one time dating Elisha Cuthbert.
As a long time Flames fan, everytime this cocksucker touched the puck I would get cranky. he never passed, he’d instead try to go end to end and well, fail, often.
Fuck him.

Wow… I didn’t realize that even some Flames fans actually hated the guy too… Anyway, glad to see him leave the NW division. Now I don’t have to hear about him as much

im not happy that he was traded, i know he tended to try to do everything himself at times, but the way the flames have been playing lately, someone had to step up and try to get things done, even a defenceman. ill be a dion fan where ever he goes myself…and i pity the fool who gets in his way out there, he likes to finish his checks, hard! flames rock no matter who they have on the team. tho i think they should have traded a different flame, cant remember his name off hand…dumb fuckin move trading dion.

People need to realize that the flames structure is a failing one and failed to preserve one of the best young defenseman in the game. we have an unstable management model. Look at the players that leave calgary and find greener pastures elsewhere. We screwed up. We are not a contender and the way we draft we will be pretenders for a while to come. Sutter will be on his way out by summer. Flames will not make the playoffs and no i am not a bandwagon fan, iam just calling it the way it is. Hopefully iam wrong.

The same can be said of other players that leave other teams and find greener pastures with the Flames though, can’t it? (cough cough Kipper cough cough)
Sutter isn’t going anywhere. Dion was/is over-rated and then some, check TSN or any other hockey site, they all agree. Just because you rocked your first two years into the league doesn’t make you someone comparable to Scott Stevens. The Flames spent a good part of the season listening to Dion bitch and whine, that takes it’s toll. Now that he’s gone, the team is better for it. Dion is supposed to be one of the best D men in the game yet, without him, a couple games back we set a franchise record for fewest shots allowed… all without Mr Magic himself.
Myself, I’m happy the jackass is gone.
