This weekend was fantastic. Bryci and I chilled the fuck out. We went hard over the past two weeks getting Katie Banks live and online and we needed to get away, not be sitting at the desk like we’re connected to the computers.
Ever have those moments? I mean, I love my job, but sometimes, I just need time with my girl. Nothing else matters, just her and I… relaxing, doing anything, or nothing at all. We spent some time on the beach with Jack, that was great. Little fucker figured out how to dig. One one of our little walks, we encountered this little field that had some cows in it. So yeah, great weekend. We watched Ninja Assassin which was fucking AWESOMEPIC!
The best part of this movie, Sho Kosugi. Any of you 80’s kids will recall he was a major part of old school Ninja movies. Fuck yeah, bad ass boss man. We watched the Flames beat the Wild 5-2 which was long over due, they Wild have really had Calgary’s number lately. One win over them though in 4 games or something does not bragging rights make. +1 MNwild, +1.

We tried to watch Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightning Thief(pic above)… that was…well… juvenile. I like fun movies but this movie was pretty much directed at twelve year old boys or retarded step children, or both. Point being, good luck watching it and taking shit serious. Even though you know it’s a fantasy movie and all, it’s just so… what in the fu… that you can’t get into it. Even Harry Potter is more believable than this shitflick. Just sayin, save your time, money, whatever.

I am actually a little pumped about this movie. Sure it’ll be mind fluff and cheesy, we know the kid wins, we know the bad guys gets what’s coming and yes, in this age of remakes this will most assuredly lay claim to one sequel, perhaps two.
Who cares? Popcorn fluff can be fun. A good way of relaxing after a long hard day.
Last night we watched this movie called Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. It’s a cartoon in the flavor of Pixar movies… sure it’s a kids movie but it’s fun for adults as well. In the movie, one of the characters we get introduced to is a talking monkey named Steve.
Steve can talk because his owner invented a speak and spell looking device that goes around his neck, and then a cool 80’s sweatband goes around his head and translates Steve’s thoughts to words.
Steve doesn’t have much to say, other than one word here or there but it’s fucking awesome.
Watching Steve, both B and I were certain Steve, is Jack. We’re sure Jack has thoughts from time to time but he isn’t really forming OMG amazing sentences in his melon, after all, he’s a puppy with A.D.D.
Steve is addicted to moustaches… so when he sees one… ‘Stach’ is what comes to mind… and he reaches for it, until the person looks at him, then he pretends he wasn’t looking at the stach in the first place. This is any puppy perfectly. They’re doing something questionable.. then you look at them and they’re all… wtf? me? nooooo I wasn’t doing that. Yeah… Jack is Steve just as Steve is Jack.
Watching Steve throughout the movie say one words to describe his thoughts has me all day speaking on behalf of Jack.
JACK. HAPPY! (wag wag wag)
JACK. SAD. (when he has been told to do something such as lay down)
JACK. BACON? When we’re leaving and he’s pretty sure that means a beggin strip is coming.
I know it’s simple and somewhat childish, but holy shit it’s funny. Seeing the movie made us realize how simple things are in life. One word is all you really need to describe things, ya know?
See this movie, it’s fun. You get to be a kid again.

I heard Jaden Smith, Will Smith’s off-spring was staring in this along side Jackie “The Man” Chan and yeah, I was depressed for like, a week easy. Jaden was great in the movie with his Dad, so junior has the chops (no Karate pun intended) but seriously… a remake of Daniel LaRusso and Mr Miyagi? For reals?
I wouldn’t get out of bed, I kept crying after I heard the news.
This trailer actually has me thinking…whoa, this might even be good. I mean, aside from Will Smith laying down the rap about 10% this, 15% that etc.
How about 100% DO.NOT.WANT Daddy to rap in the movie? How’s that for math, Will?
ps.. Jazzy Jeff called, he wanted me to ask if you saved a part for him in the new flick or on the soundtrack. I reasoned with him that after Fresh Prince you pretty much forgot he existed. I mean sure, you gave him that side role as the Alien you bitch slap in Independence Day but Big Willy, that was just cold. Jazzy been there for ya man since day one and you left him at the bus station like he was an ol drunk. How’s that Scientology gig workin for ya anyway? Whoops
