My blog is very different than it used to be. This is apparent to anyone that read it before, and is reading it now. So what’s up? Well, there was a database crash that pretty much killed the old blog. That was the starter but I decided to maybe step back a little in my writing.

Simplest reason, I ask the Bella ladies to keep drama out of their blogs. We all have shit days, those are natural but let’s face it, you don’t want to read about drama or someone bitching about things. You’re not in my head so when I am ranting about someone or something and I am meaning to be sarcastic and perhaps funny… it might come off as dead serious and then, whamo… I get branded with the ASSHOLE tag.

Sure I can be an asshole, so can you be.. but it’s not who I am anymore than it is who you are. As I said, we all have off days. I figured I’d maybe censor myself a little.. hold back the negativity because let’s face it, the world has enough already without me pouring gasoline on the fire.

I try and live my life by a famous quote by Mahatma Gandhi “Be the change you wish to see in the world”.

Pretty much, don’t pay negativity forward. Be the change. I wasn’t doing this. I was asking the Bella’s to stay upbeat, not be some whiney bitch and here I was doing it myself. I can’t ask the ladies to do something that I myself am not capable of doing. This doesn’t mean my blog will be shiny and happy all the time, fuck that, that’d be boring and let’s face it, lame. I just won’t necessarily go off as I might have in the past.

In the entire time I have been blogging, I’d be lying if I said I never had second thoughts about something I said or blogged.  This shouldn’t be the case. In forums, you see trolls, bullies, assholes, all the time. I am not one of those guys, anyone that knows me knows this. Yet sometimes this is how I am perceived and well, that just isn’t right. Since continuing the same pattern is only breeding this persona… it’s time to maybe watch what I say more.

So that’s what’s up. I know some of you have been wondering about the back story. I am pretty sure I could have resolved the database issue and saved things, but meh, why bother.. that was the past. Can’t live in the past, right?

Ok… moving on now.

Talia Shepard

Talia arrives in under 2 hours now. She is here for a solid week of shooting. She’s gotten her boobs and she’s eager as hell to get fresh photos out there for you all. The response from her getting her boobs has been almost unanimous.. people love them! Watch for fresh content possibly Saturday night, maybe Sunday at the latest!

iPhone 4

So we finally picked up an iPhone 4. We had the 3GS before this.. the iP4 is so much better it’s stupid. It’s considerably faster, the camera is incredible. I shot these last night when I was pissed at Windows 7 for crashing over and over and over. No flash, just snap.. I was impressed how clear these are. Click for larger.

Some of you asked for photos of the new computer when I got it all set up. While I am far from being all set up, I am getting closer. My hard drives arrived today, three Hitachi 2tb 2k7000’s. I had read they are an amazing drive but the only bad thing, on occasion some arrive DOA. So out of three brand new drives, one was toast so i need to send it away tomorrow to have it replaced. Meh, as they say, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad.

So here are some photos of the beast… my old Mac Pro was no slouch mind you, geekbench score of 11178 which I am almost certain is faster than most people reading this blog would see if they rated their computer with the free geekbench software. That’s not me bragging, I use this for work, heavy HD video editing among other things so I needed the speed.

Anyway… new Mac Pro is a dual six core machine for 12 cores, or when Intel’s patented ‘turbo boost’ is activated, it created 24 virtual cores. This means it’s one fast s.o.b.. 2.66Ghz, newest Intel chips. These suckers make the Intel i7 look like a fisher price toy. They’re that fast, seriously.

four drive bays, each capable of 2tb @ 3 GB/s throughput, Because it’s the same as aPC, it can handle any PC component, PCI etc whatever you throw at it, it can do.

Stock it comes with the ATO Radeon 4870 but I upgraded to the 5870, it’s a much faster card and since I am running two 30” screens for HD video editing, faster video is a good thing. DDR5 ram on this video card. Daaam!

At the bottom of the computer, again, two switches… flip them and a try slides out that contains your ram area as well as the dual six cores. My system came with 8 gigs of ram (upgraded from stock 3) and then I added an additional 16 gigs for a total of 24 gigs of ram. This is DDR3 1333GHz ram, the fastest ram out right now, so yes… again, the machine is quick.

This geekbench screen grab shows the speed of the new system (red arrow) as well as my other Mac’s. The 11178 is the old Mac Pro. 6324 is my laptop, a 17” Mac Pro i7 and the bottom score, the 9668 is the speed of Windows on my old Mac Pro *when  I am in parallels* meaning this is not a dedicated windows bootcamp start up.

What that means, when you have a Mac, you can have both operating systems, Windows and OS-X (or Unix, or whatever OS you like). When you start the computer, you chose which OS to boot into. If you want to be in OS-X (apple), you can run a third party program such as Parallels so you can turn on Windows at the same time and run the OS’s side by side, in the same space, in different spaces so you have one full screen desktop that is mac, you click a button and boom, you’re now in windows (spaces does this).

I often hear Windows users saying Macs are for people with too much money. These are usually unqualified comments to be honest, or hater comments. Do macs cost more? Some do, yes, but I can also show you a PC that runs well over $5000, it doesn’t mean you should buy it. There are Macs starting at around $600/$700 area and if you really want a Mac you can always buy one refurbished from Apple, comes with same warranty etc. Also much cheaper.

Bottom line, both Windows and Apples are great systems, get what is right for you. If you own an Apple and a PC, fine, you know the good, the bad of both. If you’re a PC user and you’re basing your opinion on what you’ve heard… ummm..  not exactly too reliable, ya know?

There is a reason you hear endless stories of people switching from Windows to Apple, yet I am still waiting to hear about stories from people going to Windows FROM Apple. ha. Face it guys, Apple is easier to run. Hell, if you’re buying your Mom a computer, you want something simple or you want to be her tech support in six months when something stops working? Apple is just easier, but I do love windows as well. I seriously love Win7, I use it almost daily as well as OS-X. So I’m not hating on either, they’re both good, they’re both bad… depends what you need. Sure you can buy a Windows laptop cheaper.. now go to the person a year down the road and ask if they wish they’d bought a Mac. If it’s a geek, they’ll be fine because they know how to tweak their windows system… but most people, don’t and most people, get viruses and malware and and and..  you get the idea.

Like I said, like it or not, Macs are easier to run. I was a hardcore Windows user from the days of Windows 3.1 and here I am, championing Apple for ease of use. The editor of PC magazine, the largest PC magazine in the world flipped to Mac. His only regret? Not doing it sooner. Go figure.

The days of… Apple can’t run games or Apple can’t do this or that… those days are loooong gone. I love building my own box, that is the biggest thing Win machines have over Apple and always will. Steve Jobs is too much of a control nazi.

That said, I wouldn’t trade this Mac Pro for anything. It’s fucked up fast, does what I need and then some and I have the best of both worlds in operating systems. OS-X is built on UNIX, the best OS in the world, how much better can it get?

11, 285 miles. This is how far my new Macbook Pro laptop has traveled in the past 6 days.

From Shanghai, China to Anchorage, Alaska, to Louisville, Kentucky. Then to Buffalo, New York and into Canada on the Eastern end… Mount Hope (never heard of it), then to Winnipeg, Manitoba… Calgary, Canada, Richmond, BC and then finally to me, smack dab in the middle of BC.

11, 285 miles.

Was this really the quickest way to get something to me UPS? Seriously? It seems if you’d have just flied this sucker from China to my door you’d have trimmed half the miles easy. I have to believe that means less gas in your planes, less emissions eating the ass out of the ozone layer, less wages, the list goes on.
Once again, UPS shows their level of incompetence.

New toy is set to arrive later today, when I have time to unpack and what not, I’ll show you guys. Mind you, it’s just a laptop.. I have to believe you either own one yourself or have seen them before. Sure, it’s the new 17 Apple MacBook Pro i7 and yes, the rumors are true, this will make you morning breakfast and suck your dick for you if you wish. (extra option, but a good one if you like to eat)

Alright, off to shave the man forest my face has become… possibly take a shower and wash the undercarriage.

That said… god.damn I think this might just be the best ad for Apple’s iPod Nano yet.

I love this desk from Biomorph. Expensive as hell but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. This set up is around 5000 bucks!

This desk is much cheaper, most likely the one I will go with. $200 at Staples. I like saving money. All in all I can’t justify the difference in prices for the two desks, and hey, I don’t have the extra money for the Biomorph anyway. heh
