Good day

28/09/11 COMMENTS 1

Tuesday was a good day. My desk arrived… I am still setting things up so it is a little messy still..

I’ll post a complete update to my batcave/geek section later when I have time to catalogue this for curious people out there. The desk is brand spanking new, industrial fucker.. made to last and then some.

Then as if the day can’t get better.. this arrived.. this is how shit should be packed. I’m collecting the entire reprints of #1 for all DC comics, the New 52. Not opening them, collecting each version, special guest covers, you name it. All of these will go into an air tight box when I have them all collected. That box will go to my child (if I have one in time) on their 18th birthday. I wish my Dad had done some cool ass shit for me like that. No, of course they won’t be worth as much as the original #1 copies, but these are limited edition runs. They’ll be worth something I am sure.

So yeah, all in all, a good day.

Wednesday will be my first full day back at work in almost two full weeks. I’ve had my laptop with me, but I haven’t been kicking my usual ass. Thus, Wed/Thurs/Fri this week will rock and roll all night, and part of every day.

Since we moved, I have been swimming almost daily, doing laps. I aggravated my shoulder moving so I’m taking a few days off from the pool, then back at it! Also.. starting book TWO this week. Book one is a wrap, it’s at the editors right now.

Life, is good. :)

Back 4 The Future

This is amazing. #Nike teamed up with the #MichaelJFox foundation to create some shoes, and then auction them off for research for Parkinson’s disease. Google’s co-founder Sergey Brin, is matching all bids up to $50,000,000.

Yes, 50 MILLION.

Check the videos.. take the time to watch.

If you’d like to bid on the shoes themselves… fair warning, they’re not cheap. They are usually $4000+ per pair, *IF* you can get a set. The first few sets went for over $75,000.

This is for an amazing cause, if you’d like to just donate, go here.

D4

Soon #Nikon will release the Nikon #D4 on the world. I have a man size boner.

d4.jpg

I will be replacing my Nikon D700 when the D4 is released. If you have interested in my Nikon D700, contact me. I will be selling it, with pro grip, possibly one lens, a Nikon 24-70. It’s a full frame camera, which means it is the sex. Full frame is outstanding. If you are a photographer and you currently shoot DX, you might want to look into this as an option. Once shooting FX, you will never return to DX.

35mm-frame-460-px.jpg

The red square is what you’d see if you shoot DX. The full pic is what you see shooting FX. It is a night and day difference, not just in landscape but models as well. close up, far away, you name it.

Full frame is the way to go.

Goodbye Firefox

12/08/11 COMMENTS 0

I used to love Firefox. It was my go to browser. It kicked the hell out of Internet Explorer, but come on, like that’s hard? I think all browsers out there kill IE last time I checked, but IE still has market share because of the comfort factor I believe. People got used to it, they’ve stuck with it. Even though IE is like leaving your front door open when you leave for holidays so people can rob you blind. Go figure. (it’s the hacker’s choice for easier browser to hack)

Anyway…

I’m on OS-X and I was using Firefox but FF was all the time logging me out, forgetting to remember passwords etc. Doing a quick google search told me other OS-X users were seeing this too. I login in and out of the server, the Bella sites, forums all day long. It always remembers simple things like forums but complex things, meh, it’d drop the bal. Badly.

So fuck you Firefox. Fuck you so hard.

I was then stuck with Chrome or Safari.

Safari uses the awesome swipe features found in Lion. That alone make it worth using. two finger swipe to the left or right to go forward or back when browsing? Fuck yes

I went with Chrome though.

Easier to tweak.

Holy shit, SO much quicker. This kills FF so bad I am pissed I didn’t do this earlier. If you’re using FF, I challenge you to try Google’s Chrome browser. It’s different, yes, but different is a good thing sometimes. Just try it already.

I had a busy week, and I am looking forward to relaxing over the weekend. I don’t work weekends. Fuck that shit. Weekends are time to spend with the lovely Miss @Bryci and our dog Jack.

Hell to the yes.

Have a great weekend everyone, see ya back here bright and early Monday!
