So, some things have changed in the past few days. I know there will be rumors, there will be stories, there will undoubtedly be bullshit, so I felt the need to make a small simple post detailing what is happening, and why. Better to go to the source, ya know? I created Babe Chat, I have run the server since day one so I’d consider myself a good source.

So here’s some background…

Babe Chat started as a webcam network in June 2009. Bryci and I did this after we learned the webcam network we were on was going to be changing the way they did things. They wanted to introduce a pay system where people could pay money to the models etc. They never checked with us on this before going ahead with development of the software, plans on pushing it live etc. They just figured all the sites with them would go along with their plans I guess.

We had the mindset that if you sign up for a website, the cams should be for free and it should not be an upsell option for different things. Sure there are webcam networks where girls offer private shows etc, but that isn’t what we were a part of before and since they were modifying their network, they were sort of forcing us to be part of the new system. We wanted simple, webcams shared between sites. No extra money needed.

We offered to buy the old cam network’s backend software if it was available to buy but they didn’t want to sell it. Not sure if they felt we’d be competition or not? The web is a huge place, plenty of room I’d think but whatever.

So Bryci and I created Babe Chat and for a week, we were the only site on it. Then Mumblez came inside a few days and joined us with his network, followed soon after by Doug and his network. The three of us formed the three amigos, we had to agree on things or they didn’t happen. Other sites then started to join us and Babe Chat started to grow. We had two very basic rules for BC, no drugs on cam and no hardcore. We wanted a classier network, and we had non nude and nude girls on the network so it made sense on some level. We weren’t trying to nuke the old cam network we were apart of but that is sort of what happened, all the sites left to be with us because we were keeping it simple.

Present day…

So earlier in the week a website within the Babe Chat network had hardcore on webcam. This is a violation of BC and if it had been any other site, they would have been removed from Babe Chat immediately. Problem was, it was one of the other amigo’s sites. He didn’t check with us before doing this, he just did it and as such, he will be leaving Babe Chat shortly to create a new cam network that he runs/owns himself. The other amigo will most likely be going as well being that they are partners on a few sites.

I’m not being a hard ass btw, The same site tried to do a bj show 6-8 months ago within Babe Chat and I nuked that so it never happened. I’m not a buzz kill, I have no issues with hardcore. I’m a guy, come on. Seriously.

I do however think having hardcore in a network along side models that aren’t porn stars, is tough for sure. What if you’re a model and your show is right after a sex show? Is that fair to you as the model? The crowd is now all restless and worked up, now you get to deal with it. Great. No, that isn’t fair and one of the things I am well known for, also well hated for, is sticking up for the ladies. I don’t go out of my way to protect just any model out there, but I sure as hell do for the Bella ladies. This is why there was a no hardcore rule.

So what happens to Babe Chat? Nothing. We’re still Babe Chat. We’re not going anywhere.

We will still be running and we’re not loosing all the girls. Stop worrying. Yes, there will be several ladies leaving because they are part of the other networks, so if you want access to their cam shows you’d need to join that other network. Same can be side though if you are currently a member of any of Doug or Mumblez sites, if you want access to any of the Bella ladies (Bryci, Katie Banks, Talia Shepard, Monroe Lee) you’d need to be a member of one of these girl’s sites or better yet, grab a BellaPass and be a member of all of their sites.

Yes Babe Chat will continue to grow, we will bring on new girls as we see that they fit with what we’re doing.

When will this be happening? I am guessing in the next week or two? No idea what the other network will be called. I do know it will have hardcore on it, which is not what we’re about here so this is for the best.

Before some of you etards start thinking Doug, Mumz and myself are fighting now or something. We’re not. This is business. We’re still friends and we understand this is the best move. I am not sour in the least, I honestly wish them the best of luck with their new venture.  We’ll all still work together and promote each other etc where we can. We’re all here for the same reason.

I created this post because you know the internet, some people talk shit behind others backs and make up stories. I wanted there to be no question what happened. It’s really no big deal, just something that needed to happen. Too many cooks in the kitchen is never a good thing.

Man, some crazy times ahead. We had just gotten back from Vegas and in the near future, we’re off again on a short trip. Then we’re back for Christmas with family, then we’re off to Arizona in January to shoot all of the Bella Girls.

Yup, I am starting shooting Katie Banks and Monroe Lee in January. At the start of January I am shooting Bryci and then Talia Shepard and then Katie or Monroe, not sure who will be next up. Going to be a crazy month of work. Gotta work hard to play hard though, right? I’ve brought on a new staffer to secure things while I am away and I’ll still have my trusty MacBook Pro on location with me to do things daily as needed.

I have to be honest, I cannot freaking wait to shoot these beautiful women!

I love what I do, and I love the people I work with. We’re pretty much a family, which is nice. I have great respect for the affiliates busting their ass to get sales day in and day out. These guys are the unsung heroes of the game. They deserve a standing ovation if anyone does. Thanks guys for making our lives easier.

So, I am now off to bed.. I have been knee deep in high end video software for the past couple days. I still have a day or two of learning (if not several), and then I dive into a six dvd course in something else, then a three dvd course in yet another topic. I am being cryptic because truth is, I’d rather not be too detailed as to the tools I use or what I do to get to where I am going. Being sharp at one’s job means doing homework, taking classes, doing course loads. Never should one rest on what they know because reality is, you can always be better. Strive to be better, and you will be.

I shall write tomorrow when I am more awake and more filled with life. I am tired as hell, today’s workout followed by SPIN using HIIT kicked my balls all over the place. I am growing though… holy shit how I am growing. 250g of protein per day plus the supps I am on = maaajor changes. Wheeeeee about time.

It’s true what they say, we hold ourselves back most of the time.

Today is a rather intense day filled with working on Monroe’s website. If there was a spy cam in our office like the one in our bathroom (see below), you’d see Bryci at her desk working away, me at my desk working away. We have set after set, webcam set after set, video after video, candid after candid, you name it. Worky work is always fun.

We want this site launched finally. We were waiting for a few things her or there and then when Monroe was ready, we were preoccupied (there are more than one girl inside Bella, so no one girl gets our full attention until it’s her turn. haha.. I try and split them up through the week evenly). So now we’re all on the same page and what the fuck up… if all goes well, we should be launching sometime Sunday night, Monday morning latest sort of thing.

BIG site for launch. I am sure you’ve joined sites where they launch with 10 sets or something fucking dumb like that. No.. the site will over 50 sets at launch, plus videos, candids, and more goodies. Then I start in on BellaPass and if there is a god, I can pull that shit out before I leave for Vegas.

Yes my work load is full. I fucking <3 my job. Best partner in the world sitting across from me right now. Alrighty kids.. off to more work.

Do you know who Scott Nails is? He’s an adult entertainment star. That is to say, he’s a porn star. If you have ever watched videos from Adult America or Brazzers, you’ve seen him in a LOT of videos. I have had a few people think I am Scott, because we share a similar tattoo.

His is on his left arm, mine is on my right. They are close, but they are very different. We’re both fans of George Clooney’s character, Seth Gecko, in From Dusk till Dawn apparently.

Have you ever signed up for an adult website? I mean, a solo model, Playboy style, or even a full blown porn site. I have. When you have a question, an issue, anything… if you email them, do you often get a response in a timely manor?

I recently signed up for a VERY well know website to get some photo ideas. The site is not a solo model site, but it is softcore. I’d mention them by name but truth is, their have a legal team larger than my family tree and I am not a fan of lawsuits… so we’ll just say this.

Shitty customer service.

I sign up, check the site for a month or actually, a little more… close to two months. I go to cancel and then I am informed I have to call a 1-800 # to cancel. Wtf? Excuse me? You’re going to make me phone someone to discuss my canceling? Seriously? If I had known this before signing up, no fucking chance I’d have signed up. What a pain in the ass.

So I wrote them an email and said in nice terms, either cancel my membership or direct me to your online tool where I cancel my own membership, or I will simply charge back the fee should you decide to charge me again.

They wrote back close to a week later… sorry, you have to phone us.

I replied, no, no I don’t. Visa will agree with me on this guys.

They finally cancelled but what did I learn? Well, for starters… for a multi million dollar magazine website… their customer service abilities or terms of service suck balls.

So yeah, there’s that. I won’t be signing up for their site ever again.

brings me to another point…

Earlier today we had a customer sign up for one of our sites using a 90 day membership option. The site he signed up for, the girl is not currently active so having a 90 day membership doesn’t make much sense. Sure, I could have said… woot! Thanks for the extra money!… instead, I treated this guy like I would have wanted to be treated, roles reversed. I voided/canceled his membership completely. I wrote him a nice email explaining that the girl wasn’t currently shooting so no need for such a long membership for the same content over and over. Hey, might not be a good answer, but it’s the truth.  I went on to say, if you’d really like to see the girl, grab a one month or better yet, a network wide pass so you get a little of everyone.

He wrote back:

Hey James,

Thank you very much for your honesty and professionalism, I really appreciate it. I would still like to view the rest of the content so I will sign up for just the month membership as you suggested. If you could maybe put me on a mailing list or something when she starts updating again I would be very interested in subscribing again.

So there ya go. Put your customers first and sure… you might not make as much money but you will at least be known for not being a company that wants you to go out of your way to fucking phone them to cancel. Seriously, wtf is that about anyway? haha

Also…

We earlier had one person say he thought the HD video content wasn’t HD enough for him. It was the first person in a year that had ever said this, but I have a simple philosophy, just because only one person is saying it, doesn’t mean others aren’t thinking it. Thus, we reinvested in ourselves, our business, and today we got a new video camera in the mail via Fed Ex. I won’t go into what it is, wouldn’t want to detail too much to competitors as to what we use… but trust in this… WOW.

I haven’t started shooting with it yet, but considering it shoots at an industry leading 24megs per second rate… where as the older camera was around 14… I suspect video quality is about to jump waaaaay the fuck up. Downside.. larger file sizes means longer download times. Upside… better quality.

Again, put the customer first, listen to criticism and build to be better, always. Build and run the site you yourself would join and stay a member of and you can’t go wrong. With that said… anyone looking for a slightly used HD video camera? heh.. email me at james@jamesdot.com peace and corn chips
